Amir Al Misri by NYN Mzimu Elmisri by *Sanadik El Shaklan X Maha Dazeer & my father (up) in Taos, NM
Jo-martin is a fourth generation cowboy, who grew up on a cattle ranch in Taos, New Mexico with Quarter Horse's "I have loved horses as long as I can remember."
"They became a big part of my life in 1997 when I was looking for a stallion to breed to a QH mare, who was owned by our ranch. I came across a purebred Arabian, the Sanadik El Shaklan son NYN Mzimu El Misri, (double El Shaklan and triple Shaker El Masri). I knew nothing at the time about Arabians but fell in love at first site. I'll never forget the moment he was doing that floating trot, he stopped, looked at me, while holding his head high flared his nostrils, and blew. I was in awe of his royalty. I ended up purchasing Zima, an eight month old filly sired by Mzimu. I halter trained, and broke her to ride and learned of the wonderful unique, kind personalities of the Arabian Breed. Sadly we had to put Zima down do to a pasture accident in the spring of 2008, but she will always have a place in my heart. I went on to study the history of the Arabian horse and the various breeding techniques for ten years before I bought my first broodmare. They inspired me so, that in 1998 I started doing paintings of them.
My first Arabian Horse show was the 1997 U.S. Nationals in Alb, N.M. where I first met Jay and Sigi Constanti of Om El Arab International. They were such an inspiration to me that I decided to seriously consider beginning my own breeding program.
We really enjoy visiting different breeding farms to broaden my knowledge on this wonderful breed, soaking up all that is said by different breeders and trainers. One of my breeding inspirations is the amazing stallion *Simeon Sadik, in my eyes he is the breed standard and is one of the best stallions in the world. Enough can not be said about this horse.
Craig is originally from Rock Island, Illinois. At 4 years old, his family moved to Upland California, they spent much of their free time at their cabin in Big Bear, Ca, where they would hike trails, ride horses and go sledding in the snow or at the beach in Corona del Mar, Ca.
Today, he is an actor in television/film as well as local theater, he was in the recent film "Eagle Eye".
Craig fell in love with Arabians in the last few years, but he is relatively new to horses.
We look forward to meeting new people who share the incredible passion of the Arabian horse.
